We are
now looking to regularly consign batches of bulling heifers to the
club sales at Carlisle.
Reports from recent purchasers have been very pleasing and it is
ideal traveling batches of this age of animal along the roads from
our farm in North Northumberland to Carlisle.
SELLING- 40 maiden heifers at the June Border & Lakeland club sale at Carlisle on Wednesday 16th June at 11am.
Virtually the entire crop of May 2009 to November 2009 heifers are for sale, enabling us to create space to expand the milking herd here at Newheaton.
The consignment includes the following heifers, we look forward to seeing
customers old and new at the sale.

At the
December sale trade in general was back a little but the
sale report from Harrison and Hetherington auctioneers reads
"A consignment of 15
maiden heifers from Newheaton Holsteins, New Heaton, Cornhill-on-Tweed
sold very well averaging £1023. Top price maiden sold for 1150gns to
Greentower Farms, Lanark. This was for a Alfrag Juror Kendall
daughter from an Excellent Bellwood with massive production
figures."
At the
August sale in 2009 we sold 15 heifers aged 19 months to a year old,
a consistent batch of correct heifers they averaged £1071.

Since August
2008 when we sold our first consignment at the Border & Lakeland
Club Sale, which included the 3rd prize Heifer in Milk we have
regularly consigned fresh heifers to the Carlisle sale including
four in May and three in June. At the June 2009 sale we sold the 2nd
prize heifer in milk, Newheaton Magor Queen to Neil Sanderson, here
is the extract from Harrison and Hetheringtons sale report 'Also
selling for 2,500gns was Newheaton Bonanza Queen consigned by New
Heaton Holsteins, New Heaton, Cornhill-on-Tweed and now joins the
herd of N & SJ Sanderson, Burtholme Farm, Lanercost. She was sired
by Magor Bonanza Allen from a Very Good Lord Lily with over 5%
butterfat and 4% protein. The Newheaton had another three classy
heifers all selling over the £2,000 bracket' |
